Case Aide - FCP


The Program Assistant will be responsible for aiding in the daily program operations of the Family Consultant Program, a preventive program that serves families who are at risk of having their children placed in foster care or have already had children placed in foster care.




  1. Assist with the day-to-day operation of a program
  2. Assist with administrative tasks, including but not limited to, record keeping, filing, and answering phones
  3. Maintain appropriate communications and interaction with other human service providers, such as Probation, Foster Care, Child Protective Service, schools and community agencies.
  4. Assist with planning and implementing parent education workshops
  5. Participate in training and orientation as required and approved by the Director for effective program operation.
  6. Establish and maintain rapport with appropriate referral organizations - follow-up and monitor referrals.
  7. Advocate for participants by contacting agencies, support service providers and other resources, which will assist clients in obtaining required services and other advocacy needs.
  8. Perform such duties as the supervisor may assign.
  9. Attend/support Urban League of Rochester events and fund raising functions.




  • Associate’s degree in counseling, social work, or related social science preferred
  • Experience working with youth and families in an urban setting.
  • Ability to relate, communicate, and work with a diverse population and understand the issues relevant to such population.
  • Ability to tolerate and handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Able to provide own transportation.  Valid New York State Driver’s License with clean abstract
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, when required.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel (Spreadsheets, forms, etc.); and ability to produce required documentation.
  • Ability to relate well with others, a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Customer service oriented.
